Needlebugs Felting ......Who we are
We are Lynda and Katie and have been friends for over 40 years. We met through our mutual love of horses and we spent hours hacking out together and competing. We rode for miles through the countryside and over the Yorkshire Moors often forgetting the time and worrying the parents as we would come home very late!
At times our lives took us in different directions but we always tracked one another down and our friendship was never lost. Our friendship has grown stronger and we enjoy walking our dogs together, riding our horses and of course.............needle felting.

What we do
We began needle felting in February 2018 after applying to do a course. We were told we needed experience and could not attend so we started watching you tube and researching British wildlife in more detail. Apart from the odd kit, we are self-taught needle felting artists and both love working with wool.
We get our inspiration from the
wildlife around our homes, both regularly seeing barn owls, hares, rabbits,
badgers, moorland and wading birds to name a few. We source our wool from local businesses and buy fleeces from farmers in North Yorkshire. Each animal/bird
is a collectable piece of art and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did
creating it.
How they are made and what we use
All our animals and birds are made over wire armatures and then wrapped and felted using locally sourced wool, for example Corriedale, Merino, Teeswater and Alpaca. We also use the fleece from our small mixed flock of sheep which we shear and then process ourselves. We use barbed needles to stab the wool which then meshes/felts it together creating a firm surface. Needle felting wool allows us to form shapes and patterns and create animal sculptures. Each sculpture takes hours to make with the larger pieces taking several days.
These sculptures are pieces of art and are not toys.
Your unique animal or bird will come with an adoption certificate and a care leaflet.
We try to use recycled and ethical packaging to post out your item and it will be carefully wrapped to arrive with you safely.
If you are interested in buying one of our needle felted sculptures, please contact us by email, text or phoning us. We look forward to hearing from you. You can also find us on Facebook and Instagram x
